Mega War Bot is it only imagination or future

The term Mega War bot (Mecha) may refer to both scientific ideas and science fiction genres that centers on robots or machines controlled by people. Mechas are typically depicted as "walker" types of mobile robots. Is it really just a friction? As the world moving towards emerged technology i don't think mecha is just fiction to be used in anime only. In fact  race towards mecha is started way before the name "mecha" itself.

Lets understand mecha from basic robotics (after-all mecha is future robot technology for securities of nations or world)

Robotics

The word robotics was derived from the word robot which is originated in 1920 by karel capek. The word robot comes from word robota means labour. In 1942, the science fiction writer Isaac Asimov created his Three Laws of Robotics. In 1948, Norbert Wiener formulated the principles of cybernetics, the basis of practical robotics. Fully autonomous only appeared in the second half of the 20th century. The first digitally operated and programmable robot, the Unimate, was installed in 1961 to lift hot pieces of metal from a die casting machine and stack them. Commercial and industrial robots are widespread today and used to perform jobs more cheaply, more accurately and more reliably, than humans. They are also employed in some jobs which are too dirty, dangerous, or dull to be suitable for humans. Robots are widely used in manufacturing, assembly, packing and packaging,  mining, transport, earth and space exploration, surgery, weaponry, laboratory research, safety, and the mass production  of consumer and industrial goods.[5]

Robotic aspects

There are many types of robots; they are used in many different environments and for many different uses, although being very diverse in application and form they all share three basic similarities when it comes to their construction:

  • Structure Design :-Robots all have some kind of mechanical construction, a frame, form or shape designed to achieve a particular task. For example, a robot designed to travel across heavy dirt or mud, might use caterpillar tracks. The mechanical aspect is mostly the creator's solution to completing the assigned task and dealing with the physics of the environment around it.

  • Electric Components :- Robots have electrical components which power and control the machinery. For example, the robot with caterpillar tracks would need some kind of power to move the tracker treads. That power comes in the form of electricity, which will have to travel through a wire and originate from a battery, a basic electrical circuit. Even petrol powered machines that get their power mainly from petrol still require an electric current to start the combustion process which is why most petrol powered machines like cars, have batteries. The electrical aspect of robots is used for movement (through motors), sensing (where electrical signals are used to measure things like heat, sound, position, and energy status) and operation (robots need some level of electrical energy supplied to their motors and sensors in order to activate and perform basic operations)

  • Programming Code :- All robots contain some level of computer programming code. A program is how a robot decides when or how to do something. In the caterpillar track example, a robot that needs to move across a muddy road may have the correct mechanical construction and receive the correct amount of power from its battery, but would not go anywhere without a program telling it to move. Programs are the core essence of a robot, it could have excellent mechanical and electrical construction, but if its program is poorly constructed its performance will be very poor (or it may not perform at all). There are three different types of robotic programs: remote control, artificial intelligence and hybrid. A robot with remote control programing has a preexisting set of commands that it will only perform if and when it receives a signal from a control source, typically a human being with a remote control. It is perhaps more appropriate to view devices controlled primarily by human commands as falling in the discipline of automation rather than robotics. Robots that use artificial intelligence interact with their environment on their own without a control source, and can determine reactions to objects and problems they encounter using their preexisting programming. Hybrid is a form of programming that incorporates both AI and RC functions.
Comparison Between Robot and Mecha
  • Mecha follows same laws of robotics
  • To construct mecha bot we will use same aspects as of robotic
so overall mecha is one of a kind of robot which is controlled by human beings but internally means mecha bot will be used as cars or military combat robot which humans will control from inside.

Real life Mecha
There are a few real prototypes of mecha-like vehicles. Currently almost all of these are highly specialized or just for concept purpose, and as such may not see mass production.
  • Land Walker: A machine developed by Sakakibara Kikai with the intention of giving the impression of a bipedal mecha.

  • T-52 Enryu: Translated name "Rescue Dragon", it is a 3.5 meter-tall hydraulically-operated robotic vehicle developed by Tmsuk. The vehicle has two hands, which copy the controller's movements. Its intended application is to open a path in the debris for the rescue team.

In the Western world, there are few examples of mecha, however, several machines have been constructed by both companies and private figures. Timberjack, a subsidiary of John Deere built a practical hexapod walking harvester.

Some Latest achievements in Field of Robot

Now lets see some recent robotic innovations which make us to think that mecha bot or war bot is not far to be invented in near future.

  • humanoid robot
humanoid robot is a robot that is based on the general structure of a human, such as a robot that walks on two legs and has an upper torso, or a robot that has two arms, two legs and a head. A humanoid robot does not necessarily look convincingly like a real person, for example the ASIMO humanoid robot has a helmet instead of a face.

  • Mega bots of US and china

  • Giant Robot Duels
  • Robo dog
and much more.

now you maybe thinking if giant robots are already invented then war mega bot may also had been invented then let me tell you why giant war bot is not possible yet.

Problem to be faced during making War bot
  • giant mega bot and war bot are two different tech.
  • giant robots are used for competitions such as robot duels but war bot is for war hence there are power limitation.
  • Humanoid , mega bots, robo dog etc cant be used in wars due to backup life as we all know war does not have any predefined time period as in competitions. so power source should have to be efficient and in large quantity mean war bot needs larger source.
  • Large source means large reservoir. large reservoir tends to large space and heavy construction.
  • Heavy construction cause low speed of motion and high stress over structure and generate strain .
  • Most important reason is safety perimeters regarding human life.
Now you know why war bot is not invented yet. we may assume that it is under process 😏

In next blog i Will show you how to make your own robot with simple equipment's and spear parts with coding.
